Welcome, everyone, to the Dodger-Blue art collection group.
I have been a Dodgers fan for as long as I can remember. When I was 8 years old, I got invited to a practice at Dodger Stadium by then Expos pitcher Bryn Smith (from my home town). I actually got to take "batting practice" on the field and tour the clubhouses. The only thing that would have made that day better would have been if it were actually a DODGERS' practice (but hey, I'll take what I can get). I got to go to the game that evening (my first ever). That was 1988. Little did that 8 year old me know that he was watching the team that would defy all odds and win one of the most memorable World Series in MLB history. It's been love ever since.
Through the ups (World Series glory, 5 consecutive ROTY awards, etc.) and the downs (Murdoch, Murdoch, Murdoch), I've bled Dodger Blue. I recently started browsing DA for Dodgers related art, and had the idea to form this group. I want to get as much great Dodgers tribute art in one place as possible. I am going to accept work that is primarily drawing, painting, digital art. Though I know there is a lot of great photo work out there, I'm going to be very picky when admitting them. I want to see that "something extra" that takes a photo from being a snapshot to being art. If you have any questions about my guidelines, please don't hesitate to ask. I also do not want to see any "hater" art. I understand (and even partake in) the rivalry that we have with the orange and black up he coast, but I respect the game of Baseball first and foremost. So, if a piece of art involves the rivalry in any way, it must be tasteful, or it will not be put in the gallery. If you're a lover of the Game, you will understand.
Thank you for reading and viewing!
